"All Hell breaks loose when the CURE becomes
the EPIDEMIC"
Bone Sickness

Kristen is tending to her terminally ill
husband Alex, who is dying of a degenerative
bone disease. When the doctors cannot help her,
she turns to Alex's long time friend, Thomas,
who shows her an alternative medicine. Crushing
up old bones and mixing with meat, Thomas keeps
Kristen fully supplied. What seems to be helping
Alex, soon begins to show drastic side effects.
Unknowingly, Alex calls an army of zombies as he
begins to turn into a necro junkie. He must feed
on the bones of others to stay alive. Will
anyone escape the epidemic?
Director Brian Paulin shows an
excellent example of what you can do on a low
budget. Although some of the sound effects are
really cheesy, the gore and zombies are top
notch. It would appear that most of the budget
went to the effects. For a movie with a limited
budget, the gore effects and zombies are
definitely top notch.
The zombies in this film are not your
regular, run of the mill grease paint zombies.
When I first saw the zombies, the first thing
that popped in my mind was the old Fulci
Zombies. You also get to see a nice little scene
involving worms, which again, reminds me of the
old Fulci movies.
The movie gets off to a slow start. Just at
the point when I was thinking that it wasn't
going anywhere, the blood begins to flow. Once
the blood flow begins, it doesn't let up. Gut
munching, faces ripped off, people torn in half,
heads bashed open, and that's just scraping the
surface. Each death gets more and more intense.
The acting in the film was done very well
for a low budget film. There is some very good
talent seen in this film. With director Brian
Paulin as Thomas, the caring, yet twisted
best friend. The very hot Ruby Larocca as
Thomas's innocent, unsuspecting wife. Also, the
very hot Darya Zabinski as Alex's caring
wife. Then we have Rich George as Alex,
the dying, turned necro junkie who feasts off
human bones.
Being a zombiephile myself, I tend to be
very skeptical when I watch zombie movies. I
don't expect too much, because most of the stuff
out there are just rehashes of the Romero
classics or rip offs of Fulci. Sometimes
you even get rehashes of rehashes. Not with this
film. Bone Sickness is its own
stand alone zombie film. It was a very pleasant
surprise to see something different. This was
one of those films that were actually a lot of
fun to watch.
Of course, as with a lot of horror fans,
this won't appeal to everyone. Personally
speaking though, I really enjoyed it. If you
want a high caliber film full of CGI effects
with a Hollywood budget, then you should pass on
this. BUT, if you are looking for a good zombie
film with plenty of in your face gore and
carnage, and don't mind the low budget,
definitely check this one out. I was very happy
with this film, and glad it is part of my
collection.
I rate this one a 7.75
out of 10 hot chics with a nice
rack getting ripped in half.
