Evil Aliens
"A bloody close encounter"

The "tabloid style" television show, 'Weird World', is in desperate need for ratings. Looking for the ultimate ratings snagging story, host Michelle, gets her crew and sets out for the remote island, The Devil's Spine, owned by the Williams family, for a story of alien abduction and alien impregnation. They find more than they bargained for. After hearing a crazy story of an alien abduction and accusations of being impregnated by aliens, Michelle and her crew set out to film the interview. What they find is the truth. Sometimes the truth is best left unknown.

From the opening scene, this movie has your jaw on the floor. Especially with the opening scene being an alien anal probe with a spinning blade, shown in graphic detail. You can just feel the pain. This scene just draws you in to a chilling tale of an age old tale. Humans vs. aliens have been done many times, but nothing as fun as this. This film has it all, scares, chills, humor, sex, blood, mutilation, decapitations a plenty, witty dialogue, creepy atmosphere, and good acting and direction.

Taking place in the UK (Whales, I believe), sets for a very chilling atmosphere, especially the night scenes as the fog rolls in. Mostly filmed at night, but the lighting is done very well. It doesn't look as though somebody is standing off camera shining a flashlight, but it's not dark either. Done very well.

I found the story to be very original. This is not just another dumb alien movie. Also, it doesn't take itself too seriously. If you enjoyed the Peter Jackson movies, Bad Taste and Braindead, you will surely find this one a delight to watch. This movie has elements of both of those movies in it, as well as a very small dose of Shaun of the Dead.

I found in my experience of cheap alien movies that the acting is horrendous. Once again, that is not the case with this film. The acting was very good with a lot of witty, funny dialogue. Even the aliens acted as though they had a personality. They didn't just stand there and growl.

The effects were awesome. Both the physical effects and CGI. With the opening anal probe, the blood begins to flow, then just keeps building. At first you think this is the only bloody scene, then about halfway through you see plenty of livestock mutilations. Then the blood really begins to flow. One of the best scenes I've seen in a long time involved a showdown between three guys and a couple of the aliens. I won't give it away, but it is a must see scene. You also see another awesome scene involving a farming combine chasing the aliens through a field as he runs them over. Very reminiscing of the end lawnmower scene in Braindead. Another good scene involves a bushwhacker, which is like a weed whacker, only with a blade instead of plastic twine. Also, you'll see enough decapitations to satisfy your sadistic needs. There is also a pretty nice sex scene involving an alien and a human. She was pretty hot, for an alien.

With elements of horror, sci-fi, and comedy all thrown together, this runs very smoothly. I would definitely recommend this film. I give it a 8 out of 10 hot naked alien chics with a dog named Fido.
